The color of feelings

One day last week, after we came home from KD’s school, we were as usual lazing around to rest a while before taking our lunch.

I can’t remember exactly what happened but KD was so mischievous again that i shouted at him and said “I am so angry now!”

To my surprise, he asked me back “Mommy, what color is angry? ”

And then he went to his school bag and took out the folder of the week’s work to show me…

He began by pointing onto each heart and asked me if I know what color it is and what it means… Before I could answer, he answered his questions himself too. Haha. Beige orange is for Happy, Blue is for Sad and Red is for angry! He said that I was red color just now!

It’s really amazing what kids learn in school these days…

Another memory recorded for my reminiscent in my old days…

Kyle’s 2nd Show & Tell

image

Hee, this was Kyle’s 2nd Show and Tell in his school in the same week. We were told  to bring two photographs to school for him to tell his classmates about his family and an activity that we were doing together.

And so, I went to developed the two two photographs and passed to his teachers without doing any preparation with him at all. 🙂

His teacher wrote me a note on how Kyle did and I must say i am quite proud of Kyle’s for being able to speak up and express himself.

In fact, he must be very proud of his family too for after he bring home the above photographs from school, he treasured them so much that he wouldn’t let me keep them.

He keeps them into his backpack and brings them everywhere!

Parent child homework: Kyle’s first show and tell

image

Last week, Kyle came home with this parent & child’s work folder and I am supposed to guide Kyle on what he can do and actually there is really many things he can do himself! The activities that he will be most interested to show off will probably be how to play Temple Run II on the iPad or how to dance and sing to various languages of Gungnam Style. Bleah.. :p

After many careful conversations and consideration, I took out his paint brushes and ask him to select a picture of his favorite fruit (which at this point of his life happened to be Strawberries, was banana, papaya and apples previously).

image

So, I asked him to select the colours and paint the picture himself. 🙂

On Wednesday, when i picked him up from his school, his teacher told me that he was able to speak in front of his classmates though he was really soft.

Anyway, I am a proud mama cos it’s Kyle’s first show and tell and i think it’s fantastic job he did!

My oh my! Is this my son?

Last week, i peeked into Kyle’s class and found him super disinterested and busy playing with  his toes when the Chinese teacher was reading a book animatedly to the attentive children. I described it to hubby and ask him aiyo why our son behaves like that?

Today, I peeked into the class again and almost fainted. Quickly took some pictures and a video to send to Hubby’s phone to which he replied:

” I think next time u need to go to his primary school often”

When I picked him up, I asked the teachers if Kyle participates in the classroom activities and if he is able to pay attention in class? To which, the teacher replied me that he had improved a lot recently…  -_-/// I immediately stopped asking further questions!

Experienced mommies, maybe you can share with me if Kyle is having attention deficiency? When he was at home with me, I also had to plan and do many activities with him quickly in a short time frame Else he will be bored and moves away.. just how can I get him to be interested in classroom activities?

I am hooked

It’s really fun going to the school to fetch KD home. For many days this week, I hid at corners to peek into the classroom to see what my son is doing. Somehow every time I got found out by him within minutes, and he will happily and very loudly announced to his class that “Yeah! It’s my mommy! My mommy is here! YIPPEE! “, pointing at me.

Observing him made me a proud mama. *bleam with pride*

Below are photos which will become part of my very precious memories that I will reminisce when I am old. Thank you hubby once again for allowing me to be able to have this kinda days.

LOL! And he is always the first to dash out of the class even if teachers told him to wait.  *haha*

Peek-a-poo

I left with the struggling KD crying at the door of his class today. It’s for his own good. Three hours later, I returned to pick him up and was peeping in to see what he’s doing.

image

The happy boy was very happy that the class is ending and teachers are asking them to put on their shoes.

image

He spotted me and shouted so loud that everyone outside can hear YIPPEE!! MY MOMMY IS HERE! YIPPEE!

image

He is so going to run out immediately and when teacher stopped him, he burst ouy crying again that he wants his mommy!

Lol! The school and other parents thought that I took care of KD since he’s young thus he is so attached to me. They were stunned when i said no, he was in infantcare and childcare since young. I think the strong attachment could be due to:

1) I am pregnant now and he’s insecure
2) I breastfeed him for 18 months
3) I did a really good job as a sahm for the past 2 months that he thoroughly enjoyed being with me
4) My efforts to bond with him since he is born paid off

Anyway, I gave him a present today. Something I bought long ago and wrapped up again. It’s to “reward” him for surviving this week. 🙂

Wah! He said its a present from santa claus due to the wrapping paper. He was so excited

Patience is what a child & parent need

School for KD has been as usual but he has improved today, 15 minutes before the dismissal then he started crying so loud that everyone outside can hear.  Moments later, the principal opened the door and allowed him out. So far he has been having the special privilege of being the first to go home.. the moment he is outside the classroom, he is all smiley already though there were leftover tears on his face. -_-” Principal said that he cried on off after I left.  :p

For the past few days KD had been refusing his lunch.  It always end up with him crying and me in anger. I told myself that I can’t be beating or screaming back at him every day. So today, I tried a new approach instead of bargaining with him to finish his food then I give him whatever he wants. I brought him home immediately after class and started on activities prior to lunch! Activities that he will love and enjoy!

We did so much today! Playdoh, finger printing, painting,  and a brand new activity!

And guess what? When we had lunch one hour later,  he finished his own bowl of rice plus a chocolate bread! All on his own, without needing me to nag or battle with him at all! ❤ <3!
